The State Ballet of Rhode Island & Artistic Director Herci Marsden Proudly Announce — Season 62
Welcome to Season 62 of
The State Ballet of Rhode Island!
Our performing season opened this past weekend with the 16th Annual Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life . Together, we celebrated with the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation as the “Light Returned to Providence.”
Our dancers performed 7 pieces (choreographed by our own Shana Marceau) and took audience members on a journey of Hope, Faith, Strength, Courage and Determination . The ending of this beautiful Illuminations of Life Ceremony was the 150 person torch procession.
Next, for the first time the State Ballet will present their holiday ballet Coppelia at the newly renovated, 750 capacity, McVinney Auditorium in Providence. With new sets, costuming and outstanding dancers, Coppelia, a RI tradition, heralds in the holiday season
Thanksgiving weekend on November 27 with two performances at 1pm and 6pm. This comical ballet will tickle you with laughter and entertain you as it has entertained audiences for more than 150 years.
