Pawtucket Hispanic Heritage Month Event Announced

 

Pawtucket to host Esperanza Pawtucket: Hope for the future  

A Hispanic Heritage Month Event and COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic  

 

PAWTUCKET- The Pawtucket Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, in partnership with Mayor Donald R. Grebien and the City of Pawtucket, is pleased to announce the first annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, with 2021’s theme being Esperanza Pawtucket.  

 

The festival will take place on Friday, October 15th from 4:30 to 8:00 PM at the Veterans Amphitheater at 175 Roosevelt Avenue featuring an evening of fun, arts, food, and music.  

 

“This is an exciting opportunity for our community,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “I encourage everyone to come out and experience the festival and thank the work of the Pawtucket Hispanic Heritage Month Committee on this endeavor.”  

 

“We hope the community can come together and share our pride in Pawtucket’s diversified culture,” said school board vice-chair Roberto Moreno, who heads the committee. “In partnership with my elected colleagues on the committee and Mayor Grebien, we hope to create a lasting tradition in Pawtucket for generations to come.”  

 

The Hispanic Heritage Month Committee consists of Senators Sandra Cano, Jonathon Acosta, Cynthia Mendes, Representatives Karen Alzate, Leonela Felix, and Carlos Tobon, Councilor at-large Elena Vasquez, and School Committee member Moreno.  

 

COVID-19 vaccines will be available at the festival in addition to performances and food from Palagis Ice Cream Truck, the EP Kitchen Food Truck, and a taco food truck owned by Akbld La Cocina Rodante LLC.
