Meet Handsome Homey
HOMEY is a Heritage pig. He arrived at Winslow Farm on July 4, 2017.
He was brought up in a house for the first year of his life. He was moved outside, but his outdoor area was too small and he became depressed. He was brought to Winslow Farm to have more room and animal companionship.
Homey is a very sweet boy.
He loves to have his back and belly rubbed. He especially loves being brushed.
Tracy, a Winslow staff member, takes time to make sure he’s brushed regularly. He likes to dig around his large area.
In the afternoon, he comes out of his enclosure and walks around the main corral with the horses and the alpacas.
Homey is very particular about his straw. He likes to move it around and places it just as he likes.
He also loves his wallow. A wallow of water and mud is made for him, but Homey will also dump some of his drinking water from his bucket, making sure it is completely to his liking.
He is very talkative and loves to greet humans.
His favorite food is strawberries, but he does not like peppers or eggplant.
Homey is a treasured member of the Winslow Farm family.
