City of Pawtucket and Pawtucket Police Department Respond to Regional Crime
PAWTUCKET- The City of Pawtucket and Pawtucket Police Department, in collaboration with the Pawtucket City Council, will be adding additional resources into the community, including patrols and victim services, and will have an increased presence throughout Pawtucket. This follows the recent uptick of violent crime in the surrounding communities and in the region and the community calls to intervene.
“We are responding to the needs of the community and are working to ensure the safety of Pawtucket residents,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “We thank residents and visitors to Pawtucket for helping us to keep our community safe.”
“The safety and well-being of the residents of Pawtucket is the primary concern of our Public Safety team” said Acting Public Safety Director and Chief Tina Goncalves. “The Police Department will dedicate any resources necessary to keep our residents safe and I would like to thank Mayor Grebien and the Council for their leadership.”
The Family Services of Rhode Island Go Team will continue to be present in the community as a response to the social, emotional, and mental health matters that have been present across the country during the past year.
Additionally, the Pawtucket Police Department bicycle patrol will also continue to be out in the community, and we encourage those who may see anything worthy of concern to please report that to the Pawtucket Police Department Community Policing Unit at (401) 729-5847 or 911 in the case of an immediate emergency.
