Pirates Announce Signing of Michael Mendes
This past week This week the Providence Pirates signed 6’9” power forward Michael Mendes to the roster for the 2021-22 season. “We are extremely fortunate that Michael has signed his contract and will be part of our Providence Pirates Family.” Head Coach Mark Gaffney stated, “He is long, athletic, and very skilled around the basket. Michael will be a huge piece of the puzzle as we put together our team for the 2021-2022 season.”
Prior to his signing with the Pirates, Mendes played all over the globe. His professional career has included stints in France, Spain, and Portugal. Mendes also plays for the Cape Verdean National Team that is currently competing in the 2021 Afrobasket qualifiers.
