LINDEN PLACE NEEDS DAFFODIL HELPERS FOR BRISTOL DOWNTOWN PROJECT

Delightful Daffodil Project Comes to Linden Place Mansion

The museum is seeking volunteers to help plant 500 daffodil bulbs at Linden Place on Saturday, September 25th as part of the Bristol Garden Club’s town-wide project.

Linden Place, the 1810 historic mansion and museum in the center of downtown Bristol, is the recipient of 500 daffodil bulbs from the Bristol Garden Club’s Delightful Daffodil Project, a town-wide effort to beautify and bring attention to Bristol’s National Scenic Byway, Route 114, one of the few in the entire country.

Toyota sponsored the purchase of 5,000 daffodil bulbs by the Bristol Garden Club to be planted in downtown Bristol. The Bristol Garden Club has graciously and generously donated 500 of these bulbs to Linden Place and we need YOUR help planting them!

On Saturday, September 25 at 11am, rain or shine, volunteers of all ages are invited to gather on the front lawn of Linden Place to plant bulbs and create a fabulous group photo celebrating the Delightful Daffodil Project and Bristol’s designation as a National Scenic Byway.

Bring family, kids, friends or come along and meet other Bristol loving people! Volunteers are asked to bring their own gardening gloves and tools.

“The U.S. Department of Transportation calls the scenic byways of America “gateways to adventures”.  Each byway is distinct, marked not only by natural panoramas but also by locations where history comes alive, and by gathering places where people share their stories,” said Susan Battle, ED of Linden Place.  “We are delighted to have the opportunity to use these colorful flowers as bright reminders of our commitment to sharing the story of our mansion and museum with both Bristolians and tourists.”
