FALL IN THE BLACKSTONE VALLEY

We welcome Fall in the Blackstone Valley. It is our season to explore and a great time to visit!!!

The air is crisp and the sun is still warm with lower humidity. This is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the fall festivals as well as biking, hiking and just plain old meandering through fallen leaves… or getting lost in a corn maze or two.

The Blackstone Valley is the perfect place for all things Fall. From the “Apple Valley”along Route 44, to a drive along country roads like Great Road and hiking Lincoln Woods and Chase Farm, to biking the Blackstone Valley Bikepath or down Diamond Hill.

Plus, there is still time for some kayaking along the river in search of wildlife. No matter what you’re into or your capabilities… there is definitely something for everyone to do in Rhode Island’s Blackstone Valley at this time of year.

We are also still in the height of festival season from great pumpkins, to scarecrows and harvests to arts and crafts.

Speaking of pumpkins, it’s pumpkin season from now through October 31 at Adams Farm in Cumberland, and they have many activities planned where family fun is harvested daily.

With a season pass, you can visit one of the largest pumpkin patches in Rhode Island! Enjoy a hayride, visit with the animals, take a turn through the 5-acre mega maze, or stroll through the kid-friendly corn and hay mazes. You can also purchase a daily pass or a mega-weekend pass. This is truly a delightful way to spend time outdoors!

While in Cumberland you can also head to Phantom Farms for some fresh apples and apple cider or maybe a slice of apple pie and coffee in their beautifully-decorated cafe. Pick-your-own season just started as well, so head out to their orchard and take home some tasty treats.

Saturday, September 18 @ 11 am – 5 pm – You will find more pumpkins, entertainment, arts & crafts vendors, and family fun at the 14th Annual Great Pumpkin Festival in North Smithfield. MORE INFO

October 16 @ 12 – 5 pm-  Scarecrow Festival, Glocester,  –  Scarecrows (contributed by local businesses and organizations) will dot the landscape around Chepachet Village for this annual fall festival. This year is shaping up to be one of the best with live music including Trade Secrets Barbershop Quartet and traditional music of the area provided by Mary Lee Partington & Ed Sweeney and the Old Time Fiddlers.

There will also be a Fresh Paint Art Auction. Local artist Douglas R. Lovett, III is painting an original piece of art for a silent auction. The auction itself will take place in the Chepachet Art Gallery or Fine Cigars and Art Gallery. Either way we recommend checking out both galleries.
