Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England Marks the 100th Anniversary of Camp Hoffman with Activity-Packed Centennial Celebration
[Warwick, RI—September 14, 2021]– On September 25, 2021, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England will be celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of Camp Hoffman with an activity-packed Centennial Celebration. Current Girl Scouts, friends, family, and alums are all invited to join us for a day of fun camp activities, including hiking, archery, rock wall, arts and crafts, outdoor skills challenges, visiting program partners, museum tours, song workshops, tie dye, campfires and s’mores, and much more.
For more than a century, camping has been a cornerstone of the Girl Scout experience, and Camp Hoffman is one of the oldest Girl Scout camps in the country. Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England remains committed to ensuring that girls have opportunities to take part in everything camp has to offer in a safe and nurturing space. This special place has brought girls together to learn new skills, to make new friends, to sing, and to cherish this community bound by the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law over ten decades.
“We are so excited about the centennial celebration of this very special outdoor space for Girl Scouts! It’s pretty incredible to imagine 100 years of girls exploring their independence, seeking challenges and finding the courage to take risks that expand their confidence. Camp Hoffman is also where girls learn the importance of protecting our environment because they have experienced the beauty, joy and renewal of time outdoors. We are proud that we have been able to offer engaging, exciting, and priceless experiences here at Camp Hoffman, one of the oldest continually operating camps in the country today,” said President, CEO, Pam Hyland.
The Camp Hoffman Centennial Celebration will be held at Camp Hoffman, 2850 Ministerial Road, West Kingston, RI from 9:30 AM- 6:00 PM. The event is rain or shine, and general admission tickets will be sold for $5 at the gate. Attendees should bring a picnic lunch, snacks, and plenty of water, as well as facemasks and money for the Camp Trading Post and yummy treats.
