Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division Announce Fall Session of Recreation/ Wellness Classes
The Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division has announced their lineup of recreational classes and programs for the upcoming fall season. Classes will take place at Jenks Junior High and the Agnes Little Elementary Schools with some selections varying between a four or eight week session. In the event of class cancellations, classes are rescheduled at the conclusion of the session. Both online and in-person registrations begin Monday, August 30.
Monday night adult classes include Hi-Low Impact Aerobics and Yoga. These classes will start on September 13 at the Agnes Little Elementary School. Hi-Low Impact classes start at 6 pm and will continue for eight weeks. The cost for the entire eight week program is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents. The Yoga program will be offering two 4-week sessions starting at 7:15 pm – 8:30 pm. Session 1 starts September 13 with Session 2 starting on October 18. Registration fees for the Yoga sessions are $24 for Pawtucket residents and $32 for non-residents. Participants are not obligated to participate in both sessions but are expected to bring a mat. There will be no Monday classes on October 11th due to Columbus Day but has been factored into the session.
Total Body Fit offers strength training and cardio and will take place at the Jenks Junior High School Cafeteria starting on Tuesday, September 14 at 6 pm. These individual night classes will continue as an eight week session. The entire cost for a session is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents.
Dance Aerobics is a low impact but energetic choreographed dance class alternative that is offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm to 7pm at the Agnes Little Elementary School starting on September 14. Registration fees for the entire 8-week program are $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents. The fee does not encompass both Tuesday and Thursday nights, as both evening classes are individual offerings.
Wednesday night’s eight week class lineup consists of Step Aerobics and Line Dancing which will both begin on September 15 at 6 pm. Line Dancing will take place at the Jenks Junior High School Gymnasium while Step Aerobics will bring its cardio fitness program to the Agnes Little School. Step students are asked to bring their own steps. The entire 8 week session cost for each of these classes is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents.
Two 4-week Yoga sessions will continue on Thursday nights at 7:15 pm at the Agnes Little School. Session 1 begins September 16 with Session 2 scheduled to start on October 14. Youth gymnastics return to Saturday mornings at the Jenks Junior High School gymnasium, for ages 4-6 at 9:30 am with a second class offering for those ages 7 to 17 at 10:45 am. The entire cost for an eight week session is $56 for Pawtucket residents and $72 for non-residents.
