Neighbors and Friends,
This is a frustrating situation.
Plainville is riding a double edged developmental sword – financial tax woes, trying to broaden the tax base – poor water supply potential with an ever increasing population.
All dependent on runaway commercial zoning in a finite and ecologically sensitive town footprint with a developer dangling a short time line and “a bag of silver.”
Plainville has no potential for reservoir water capacity with an insatiable appetite and need for tax monies just to survive and dependent on other municipalities for additional water – and the Town wants to pave and develop its orphaned landscape – the headwater of an entire watershed stretching from Plainville to Narragansett Bay.
Once paved and ditched, there ain’t no more!!!!!!!!!
And if the trucking firm pulls out for some unknown reason in future, how will Plainville deal with that situation?
Look at the woes of North Attleboro trying to deal financially with the failed Emerald Mall.
Or Attleboro with a failed sport complex – owed $400,000.00 in back taxes trying to pay for a new high school off the backs of retirees?
Phew!!!! Plainville has some major problems.
