Friend,
Today is a day for remembering those Americans who paid the ultimate price for freedom. It’s a debt of gratitude that’s impossible to repay, but one worth honoring any way we can, year after year, on the 31st of May.
I think back to remarks from our beloved former President, Ronald Reagan , who delivered the following words during Memorial Day ceremonies held at the Arlington National Cemetery, May 31, 1982:
“I have no illusions about what little I can add now to the silent testimony of those who gave their lives willingly for their country. Words are even more feeble on this Memorial Day, for the sight before us is that of a strong and good nation, that stands in silence and remembers those who are loved, and who in return, loved their country enough to die for it.”
On behalf of the Massachusetts Republican Party, we honor those brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Yours,
Jim Lyons
Chairman, Massachusetts Republican Party
