12th Annual SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival
The 12th Annual Southeast New England (SENE) Film Festival takes place June 17 to 19 at the Artists’ Exchange in Cranston, Rhode Island. The Festival will showcase 130 short and feature-length films from local filmmakers and filmmakers from across the country and around the world. After postponing their in-person festival eight months, SENE will be one of the first festivals in New England to offer completely live, in-person screenings of all their films this year.
Opening night feature films include the Australian romantic drama “Don’t Read This on a Plane”, the acclaimed coming-of-age film “Dramarama” and the German comedy/drama “Zoro’s Solo”. The closing night feature film “12 Days of Christmas” was written and directed by New England filmmaker Michael Boyle.
Over the course of the three-day festival, SENE will screen 17 short film programs featuring drama, comedy, animated, documentary, LGBT, sci-fi, and horror programs. Included in these programs are 20 short films from local area filmmakers.
Screenings will take place at the Artists’ Exchange, 50 Rolfe Square in Cranston, and at the nearby Theatre 82 at 82 Rolfe Square. The Artists’ Exchange and the SENE Film Festival will be adhering to all CDC and state of Rhode Island COVID-19 precautions.
Tickets to all screening programs are $10 ($7 seniors/students) and are available at the door. $25 SENE Passes are available which allow access to unlimited film programs during both the June festival and the upcoming October festival. Festival passes and tickets to select film programs are available in advance online. Visit www.senefest.com for complete program information.
