Open-Door Exhibit Featuring Innovative Artist Vesna Longton
ATTLEBORO, MA. – April 27–The work of local freelance artist Vesna Longton will be displayed at Preservation Framers’ Churchwood Gallery, 31 North Washington Street, North Attleboro from April 30 – May 26.
Longton is an innovative artist who creates 3-D images on glass and resin which incorporate the element of light. 3D glass and resin painting is a growing trend in the art world. The founders of this method, Dustin Yellin, Jean Pierre Weill, Xia Xian Wan, Yosman Botero, Marc Scheff, and Longton use varying mediums of glass, plexiglass, or resin layered atop each other to create a 3-D form of art.
Born in Moscow, Longton has lived in Massachusetts since 2006 where she is a member of the Attleboro Art Museum and the Pawtucket Art Collaborative.
Longton often uses a symbolistic impressionistic style with a touch of surrealism. She says, “For me, it is important to create the effect of a different reality, maybe even a different dimension, a sense of mystery, but still within the artistic approach. My art seeks to heighten the mystical and explore the possibility of other worlds. This is my way to say, ‘wake up. There is so much more than what we think is reality. Delve into your inner mystery.’”
