FRIENDS OF TEN MILE AND BUCKLAND BROOK

OAK GROVE PAWUCET

Friends of the Ten Mile and Bucklin Brook will be doing a cleanup this coming Saturday APRIL 17,2021 beginning at 9:00 AM in Oak Grove Cemetery on Central Ave in Pawtucket. We will meet  in the back of the cemetery and clean the wetland that is part of Bucklin Brook and in the woods between Oak Grove and Walnut Hill Cemeteries. Wear long sleeves and bring water.

We are also beginning our herring counting at the confluence of the Ten Mile River and Wilde Brook in Pawtucket. Last year we discovered that the TMR fish run extended up the brook and that they were heading toward Seekonk. Fish have been reported going up the fish ladders on the river, so it’s time for us to start counting. This is done whenever you have time for as long as you want to spend at the water. Please let me know if you want to help out with this. We will also be checking Daggett Brook as they were seen there as well.

Finally, a thank you to all who attended the walk last Sunday at the Attleboro Elks Club. It was a lot of fun. And thank you to Donna and Jesse for putting together an after work cleanup last week in Seekonk. We got a good sized pile out of Wilde Brook on short notice. We are off to a good start!

Thank you and I hope to see you on Saturday.
