WAA LAUNCHES 2021 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
In Cooperation with RIAEA: Rhode Island Art Education Association
North Kingstown (RI) – Wickford Art Association (WAA) has opened the application period for the 2021 Scholarship Program, serving graduating high-school seniors who seek to continue art studies at the collegiate level.
This resume-enhancing scholarship is offered statewide to public and public-charter high school senior art students. Each high school in Rhode Island may refer up to four students, each representing a unique discipline: painting, drawing, 3D/mixed media, or photography.
One outstanding art student in each medium will be selected, receiving a cash scholarship, a one-year student membership to WAA, and the opportunity to exhibit and sell work at the summer Wickford Art Festival on July 10 & 11, 2021.
The application period extends to Wednesday- March 17, 2021 and students must obtain the endorsement of their school art teacher/instructor.
The top four students will be awarded scholarships by the Wickford Art Association and RIAEA; each student is guaranteed a $500 scholarship, but more will be awarded depending upon the availability of funds.
All four winners work will be exhibited at the Wickford Art Association’s Gallery from March 23 through April 3, 2021 and also offered as a Virtual Gallery at wickfordart.org. The 2021 Scholarship application is available at wickfordart.org and RIAEA.org now.
The 2021 Scholarship exhibit will run concurrent with WAA’s Push-Pull-Print exhibit for printmakers, which opens on March 12, 2021.
For more information on individual exhibits or programs, please contact us, or visit wickfordart.org.
All programming is subject to change; all juried and judged exhibits will be featured through online virtual galleries as well as in-gallery hours (Wednesday through Saturday: noon to 4pm, Sunday: noon-3pm) at WAA’s beach-front North Kingstown home.
The Wickford Art Association is a non-profit organization with approximately 450 members from Rhode Island and across New England.
The association hosts art exhibits, classes, lectures, and workshops in its North Kingstown gallery and has produced the summertime Wickford Art Festival since 1962. Wickford Art Association is dedicated to educating, encouraging and inspiring artists and art lovers throughout the community.
