Constituent Liaison and Public Health and Equity Leader to Work with Community
PAWTUCKET – Amid the ongoing national concerns and the coronavirus pandemic that has affected Pawtucket communities disproportionately, the City of Pawtucket is pleased to announced the appointment of a new Constituent Liaison and a Public Health and Equity Leader.
“Over the past few months, my administration has listened to the needs of our diverse community and brought on a Constituent Liaison and a Public Health and Equity Leader,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “Both individuals will continue to help the City and Public Safety Department to strengthen our relationships and building up our trust in the community.”
Both positions, through the Department of Public Safety, will be tasked with further bridging the City and its changing, diverse, underserved and underrepresented neighborhoods and communities.
Kassandra Florez
This Constituent Liaison, Kassandra Florez of Pawtucket, begins January 19th and will work with various community groups and agencies with a focus on measures to strengthen relationships and support community-based safety initiatives. She will also be tasked with serving as the liaison for the Mayor’s Community Board, which was created to encourage a more cohesive environment for all citizens and visitors to the City of Pawtucket by promoting the values of diversity and inclusivity. Kassandra, a graduate of Shea High School, speaks fluent Spanish.
Elizabeth Damoura Moreira
The Public Health and Equity Leader, Elizabeth Damoura Moreira of Pawtucket, begins on February 1st and will focus on coronavirus response efforts within the community while leading the BEAT COVID-19 initiative. She will also focus on working with the Rhode Island Department of Health and different community groups on distribution coordination for the vaccine. Elizabeth, who has spearheaded over a dozen mask distribution and testing events in Pawtucket through Project Health CV, speaks fluent Cape Verdean Creole and proficient Portuguese.
