One more thing as 2020 wraps up…
Dear Friend –
It’s finally almost over! Let’s face it – we are all glad 2020 is about to become history!
All of us have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but I find myself feeling grateful for things I once took for granted. I have had more time for family board games and movie nights. I’ve seen my extended family more through zoom – despite the various time zones we live in. And I’ve witnessed the resilience of so many in our community.
At the RI Department of State, we’ve also had some remarkable accomplishments. We have provided seamless service to small businesses and saw a record number of businesses created in our state. Our precious 400 year old archival records were moved to a new, more secure location–preserving them for generations to come.
But the most noteworthy accomplishment was running an election that made Rhode Islanders proud. Throughout our state, voters thanked me for improving access to the ballot box and ensuring they could securely and safely vote in the midst of the pandemic.
As we look ahead to 2021. I have one final ask of you this year – can you help me show that you support the work I’m doing by making a contribution before midnight tomorrow – Dec 31? My goal is to raise $8,645 and if you help us, I know we can make it.
Wishing you a happy and healthy new year-
Warmly,
Nellie
