FESTIVAL BALLET PROVIDENCE

VIRTUAL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

In times of uncertainty, the arts offer refuge for those who need it most. In FBP’s after school programs, FBP outreach educators lead a virtual class for second and third graders throughout Pawtucket public schools. The class provides a chance for students to come together with classmates and provides a gateway into the arts world and the possibilities it offers.

“My favorite part about this class is when I learn a new dance move.”

Jayleen DaSilva-Fortes

Jayleen DaSilva-Fortes, a promising young student in the program was noticed by FBP educator Sara Clarke for her focus and potential. Her excitement and commitment to the class, even with the challenges of virtual instruction, have been remarkable to witness.

“I’ve noticed so much progress in Jayleen throughout the course of the program. She has developed new skills and expanded her knowledge of art and dance, and she’s more active, focused and creative.”

FBP programming goes beyond the stage to address critical gaps in arts education and access within our community. In this season of giving, consider the impact you can make when you give a tax-deductible donation.  Throughout an increasingly difficult year, our commitment to bring art to everyone has inspired hope and creativity in both our students and educators. With your help, this bright light of inspiration can continue to illuminate for generations to come.
