BBBS RI PARTNERS WITH PAWTUCKET

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island Adds Multiple Clothing Donation Bins in Pawtucket

Pawtucket – The City of Pawtucket and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) have announced a partnership bringing multiple clothing donation bins for residents to donate their bagged used clothing.

“This is a great opportunity for residents to dispose of their used clothing while also donating to a great cause,” said Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “We thank Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island for their partnership as we work to help those in need.”

CEO Katje Afonseca says, “As a mom of two young girls, we are constantly going through clothes in our home.  The bins are so convenient to drop off our donations.  The more residents donate the bigger impact we have on the community! We are grateful to Mayor Grebien for allowing the placement of bins which makes it easy for residents to donate their clothing.”

The bins will serve as collection points for community donations of clothing, sheets, shoes, textiles, and other cloth items to benefit BBBSRI mentoring programs. Donating used materials creates life-long friendships & keeps roughly three to five million pounds of cloth from the Rhode Island landfills each year!

Bins are currently located at:

Jenks Junior High School

The Pawtucket Police Department/City Hall

The Pawtucket Animal Shelter

Leon Mathieu Senior Center

The Pawtucket Department of Public Works

Visit www.bigsri.org or call 401-921-2434 for more information on the donation bins.
