Pawtucket Veterans Council Honors Veterans
Pawtucket– The Pawtucket Veterans Council joined the City of Pawtucket in honoring the veterans of this great nation as part of the annual Veterans Day Ceremony despite the ongoing pandemic.
“On behalf of the City of Pawtucket, we honor and thank all of the veterans who have served our country,” said Mayor Grebien.
“It is unfortunate that the coronavirus pandemic has hindered yearly celebrations across the country. Nevertheless, we express gratitude to the Pawtucket Veterans Council who took the necessary steps to ensure a safe ceremony.”
“The Pawtucket Veterans Council thanks the City and everyone who has joined us in saying ‘Thank You’ to those who fulfill the patriotic duty to maintain the freedoms we enjoy in our country.
Veterans Day is an opportunity to publicly commemorate the contributions of living veterans and the coronavirus pandemic was not going to stop us from doing so,” said Pawtucket Veterans Council President John P. Gallo Sr.
Video of the ceremony can be found on the City of Pawtucket’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
This year, a smaller ceremony was held amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
All RI Department of Health and Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines were followed.
