AIA RHODE ISLAND: STRATEGIC CHANGES PLAN

Colleagues, Partners, Supporters and Friends,

A fundamental shift in our governance model for AIA Rhode Island has been the strategic board, which charges committees with specific action, rather than the Board attempt to do it all. This approach has been a couple of years in the making.

Our multiyear strategic planning effort achieved a significant milestone as well, with its formal adoption at our June Board of Directors meeting. The 2020-2025 Strategic Plan identifies a clear mission for our Rhode Island Chapter,

” AIA Rhode Island advocates for the role of architecture and architects, in elevating the quality of the built environment for all .”

The plan further identifies specific strategies to achieve 4 goals: Outreach, Elevate Architecture, Member Engagement, and Organizational Strength.

As the Board continues in the coming months to refine committee charges and a chapter budget for 2021, your thoughts are welcome.

If there is a specific program, event, action or direction you would like to see the Chapter take, please reach out to me

or a Board member, to share your ideas so they may be included in the conversation. Equally helpful would be knowing if you are interested in leading or participating in that effort as well.

In other news, there are several committee meetings this week, and our weekly CE/HSW presentation on Wednesday. You’re truly welcome to attend any of these; see below for more information on these and other curated opportunities and resources.

Cordially,
