YES! SLATER PARK SUMMER CAMP IS ON!

Pawtucket Announces Slater Park Summer Camp

Onsite Registrations to Be Held Throughout the City

Pawtucket – The City of Pawtucket, Mayor Donald R. Grebien, and the Pawtucket City Council have announced the Slater Park Summer Camp with onsite registration to be held throughout the City.

The Parks and Recreation Division received supplemental funds from the Rhode Island Departments of Education and Human Services to help provide the additional resources required under the coronavirus guidelines to ensure the safety of the youth.

“Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, cities across the state have had to cut down on the recreational activities that they can provide,” said Mayor Grebien.

“We continue to work alongside the Council to ensure that youth across the entire City have the opportunity to participate in camps and recreation. We are pleased to have received these funds in order to provide children a safe and enjoyable environment.”

The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Division will be holding onsite summer camp registrations to assist those who do not have access to transportation.

These will be held on:

Wednesday, July 1 from 4 pm and 5 pm at the Woodlawn Community Center parking lot;

Wednesday, July 1 from 6 pm and 7 pm at the rear parking lot of Nathanael Greene School; and

Thursday, July 2 at the John Street Playground from 5 pm and 6 pm.

The cost for the camp is $30 for a 3-week session with two sessions of camp over the summer.

Guardians are asked to review the Slater Park Summer Camp registration packet, which can be found at

before registering for the camp.

The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Division is working alongside First Student, who is contracted with the City, on a solution to provide transportation to children if needed. The Department of Public Works, through its Parks and Recreation Division, is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment to all of our camp goers this summer.

The Camp will follow all of the necessary guidelines provided by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). Camp is scheduled to begin July 6th and run until August 14th.

Numbers of each camp group will be in line with the group guidelines set forth by the State’s requirements.
