Meet Cathleen DeSimone: A New Addition to Our Ambassador Committee
CATHLEEN DE SIMONE
Join us in welcoming Cathleen DeSimone to our Ambassador Committee. You might have seen her name last week when we announced that Cathleen and Laura DeSimone became Silver Chamber Heroes. We are grateful for their donation as well as for Cathleen volunteering to be on our committee.
Cathleen works for Bridgewater State University (BSU) as the Director of BSU Attleboro located in the Attleboro Corporate Center. BSU Attleboro is part of the university’s Continuing Studies program that offers evening classes and programs for part-time students working to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
Before joining BSU, Cathleen spent almost a decade working with and serving adult students by teaching English as a second language or ESL at The Literacy Center and as the Director of Adult Basic Education for Bristol Community College in Attleboro.
She previously worked as a trial attorney for the Immigration and Naturalization Service and had a private law practice working focused on immigration matters.
Cathleen is currently in her first term as an at-large member of the Attleboro Municipal Council and is very active in the Attleboro community. She is also a member of the Sturdy Hospital Foundation and an incorporator for the Attleboro YMCA.
She has a BA from the University of Rhode Island, a JD from Roger Williams Law School, and an MEd from Eastern Nazarene College.
