WORK CREWS IN MAY 2020
On behalf of the Attleboro Land Trust, I would like to express the hope that you are faring well during these difficult times. It is with caution that we send out this invitation to help with the maintenance of one of our properties.
There will be work parties at the Nickerson Walking Woods Preserve, 221 Richardson Avenue, at the following times:
Saturday, May 23, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Tuesday, May 26, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
The work will consist of clearing brush, thorny briers, and invasive plants in the meadow and along one of the boundaries.
Tools needed will include:
–Loppers, pruning saws, and other pruning tools
–Leaf rakes
–Chain saws
–Shovels and pick axes to remove invasive buckthorn saplings
–Tarps to bundle and move brush
We will have some tools, but bring what you have.
You are required to bring your own work gloves, face mask, and water.
If you desire sunscreen or insect repellent, please bring your own.
Because of the coronavirus, we will follow these additional procedures:
–If you can help, please let us know in advance. We will limit the MAXIMUM size of the crew to 10 people.
–Everyone on the crew must agree to wear a MASK.
–Everyone on the crew must agree to maintain a 6-FOOT DISTANCE from each other.
–These are precautions that naturally require teamwork and mutual respect among everyone on the crew. We hope you agree.
Ticks are out, so be sure to do a body check when you return home.
