Museum of Work & Culture Launches Fourth Free Classroom for Distance Learners
(WOONSOCKET, R.I.) – The Museum of Work & Culture is excited to launch the fourth installment of its free series of Turnkey Google Classrooms for Rhode Island educators, distance learning families and home schoolers.
This week’s classroom, Making History in 2020, features exploration units on voting, including the centennial of women’s suffrage, the US census and the importance of ensuring everyone is counted, and COVID-19 and how students can act as historians now. This classroom is made possible in part by support from the Rhode Island Census 2020 Fund.
Other available classrooms include: American Industrialization, Immigration in Rhode Island, and Unionization and Labor.
All classrooms feature readings, videos, primary sources, assignments, discussion questions, and more. Educators are able to adapt the classrooms to their own needs by adding and removing material, inviting students, and assigning due dates and grades. Classrooms can be secured by filling out the request form at
or by emailing
Currently, copies of the classrooms are serving more than 4,100 Rhode Island students from across the state.
The Museum is also offering free remote tours for student groups and weekly programs with our educators for Pre-K students and teens. More information is available by visiting
