Norton Library Temporarily Closed
Out of an abundance of caution and in an attempt to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, the Board of Trustees have decided to close the library beginning March 14 for at least two weeks.
This was not an easy decision, however after following the emerging situation closely, holding discussions with the town, Board of Health, and following the decision by Norton Public Schools to close it was determined that a temporary closing is in keeping with the recommendations of the CDC and World Health Organization to encourage social distancing.
During this time, we ask that you do not return materials to the Norton Public Library.
All due dates will be changed and fines accrued during this period will be waived. We want to do everything possible to support those of you who are practicing social distancing or self-quarantining.
We will be working to offer online reference assistance and possibly programming, but because this is a rapidly evolving situation we don’t have any firm plans to share yet.
Through our online resources and email we hope to continue to serve our patrons to the best of our ability.
We encourage you to follow the recommendations for minimizing the spread of the virus. We will continue to update our website, social media, phone message, and send an email newsletter with changes when we have them.
Thank you for your understanding and stay well.
