NOTES FROM COMMISSIONER INFANTE-GREEN

RIDE

We’re just one month into the SurveyWorks window, and already more than 43,000 students, teachers, and families have shared what is working and what needs to be improved in our schools. That’s an increase of nearly 7,000 participants over the same time last year.

Let’s keep that momentum going!

Much attention is paid to traditional performance metrics like standardized test scores and graduation rates. Those are important, but they don’t paint the full picture. They can’t capture how a parent feels when they walk into a school building. They can’t tell us whether a student feels safe. They can’t gauge whether or not a teacher feels supported in the classroom.

That’s where SurveyWorks comes in.

The data we glean from SurveyWorks is so important, and it helps your school and our state better understand what all stakeholders need and what we can do to create stronger, more responsive, and more resilient learning communities.

If you are a teacher, a support professional, a building professional, a student, or the parent or guardian of a school-age child, take 20 minutes and complete SurveyWorks. And no matter what category you fit into, we’re counting on you to make this year’s survey a success. Tweet it. Email it. Talk about it at work, at home, and at your coffee shop. Tell your friends.

SurveyWorks is open through March 31, so get your unique code from your school and visit Surveys.Panoramaed.com/RIDE.
