The Power of Creative Expression at the Weaver Library
AMY KINNEY
Weaver Library presents artist and teacher Amy Kinney, author of Unraveling My Purple Sweater on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 7 pm. Kinney has turned her lifelong struggle with mental illness into a book of art to share with others.
She tells the back-story behind the images in her book which is subtitled “The Beginning of My Journey through Depression.”
As the former program director for Rhode Island’s PeaceLove Studio, Kinney’s goal is to give others an understanding of how creative expression can support recovery and transformation.
She offers the audience the opportunity to ask hard questions of what it is like to live with depression and anxiety.
Amy’s talk is intended for anyone looking for a new perspective on mental health and especially for the loved ones of individuals struggling with mental health issues.
This program is free and open to all.
