Library Director to present program on cybersecurity at the Weaver Library
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Library Director Michael Carlozzi will present a program on cybersecurity essentials at the Weaver Library on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 7pm.
From ransomware to SIM card swaps, criminals possess an arsenal of tools to steal identities and make lives miserable. Today, all it takes is one misclick to get hacked, and recovery can be long and painful. This talk will present strategies to help keep you and your information safe while online. It will also tell you what to do in case you find yourself a victim of such attacks so your response can be swift and systematic. Subjects covered will include old threats such as “phishing” as well as emerging risks like ransomware and SIM (phone) swapping.
Library Director Michael Carlozzi began his career as a Technology Librarian and has a strong interest in computer security and keeping his patrons safe online.
