ATTLEBORO PUBLIC LIBRARY GRANT

Attleboro Public Library Receives $1,000 Teen Technology Grant!

The Attleboro Public Library (APL) was one of 10 libraries across the United States selected to receive the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) 2019 Digital Equipment GrantSponsored by The Dollar General Literacy Foundation, the grant has enabled the APL to purchase new technology to support our monthly High Tech Club for youth in grades 5-12 and provide enhanced outreach to the Attleboro Middle and High Schools.

In partnership with the Friends of APL, the library applied for funding for 3 Kano Harry Potter Coding Wands, 2 Sphero Bolt Programming Robots, and an Oculus Quest-VR System.

APL’s Tween/Teen Librarian, Meghan Witherell, “is thrilled to receive the 2019 YALSA Digital Equipment Grant!” Ms. Witherell further notes that “Without generous opportunities such as this one, the APL would not be able to continue to provide innovative technology opportunities for youth in our community. A huge thank you to YALSA and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for this fantastic opportunity!”
