The Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission (RIPAC) Assessment Team will arrive at the Pawtucket Police Department on August 27, 2019 to examine all aspects of the Department’s policies and procedures, management operations and support services.

This assessment is to verify that the Pawtucket Police Department meets the Commission’s standards. This is a voluntary process by which the Department seeks recognition of professional excellence in law enforcement.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments to the assessment team by telephone. The public is invited to contact the Assessment Team at (401)-727-4628 on August 27, 2019 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the Department’s ability to comply with RIPAC standards. Copies of the RIPAC standards are available for review at the Pawtucket Police Department.

Persons wishing to offer written comments regarding the Pawtucket Police Department’s ability to meet the standards for accreditation are asked to write: RIPAC Executive Director, Christine Crocker at P.O. Box 7877, Cumberland, RI or call (401) 500-2075 or email to crocker.ripac@cox.net.

Accreditation is for 3 years, during which time the Department must submit annual reports attesting continued compliance with the applicable accreditation standards.
