JULY NEWPORT TO NASHVILLE LISTINGS
On July 11, 2019, Newport to Nashville presents a Listening Room concert showcase featuring local songwriters Steve Demers, Kim Petrarca, Johnny Gates and Mary Day performing acoustic songs in an intimate setting at the Newport Playhouse & Cabaret Restaurant.
The Newport to Nashville concerts offers a specialty menu as well as a full-service bar for your enjoyment. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the music starts at 7:00 pm. There is a $10 cover with a full bar, and pub menu. More information online at

Brought to the musical forefront is a new wave of Alternative Rock. The production sound of Steve Demers’ music can be mistaken for nothing other than crunchy, edgy, and sonic electric and acoustic melodies.

KIM PETRARCA
Born and raised in Rhode Island, Kim Petrarca is a singer-songwriter based out of Nashville. Kim’s style of indie-folk-rock is not only lyrically driven, but honest and simple, making her songs relatable to any listener.
JOHNNY GATES
Seen by many on the television show The Voice, Johnny started pursuing music at 18 when he was asked to join the band Runaway Saints because he “had awesome hair.” They performed locally in Rhode Island and moved to Nashville in 2008. As a solo artist he opening for Rod Stewart and Jonny Lang on tour.

MARY DAY
Growing up in RI, Mary had two passions, one was law enforcement and the other was being a singer/songwriter. She considers herself lucky that she got to do both. She has retired from 25 years of law enforcement but her music career still carries on.
