Grants for local preservation projects
RIHPHC will award $60,000 in Certified Local Government (CLG) grants to 7 projects:
The Town of Cumberlandwill receive $10,000 to fund a conditions assessment of Town Hall.
The Town of Hopkintonwill use $7,000 for a survey of the 14-acre Manitou Hassanassh Preserve.
The Town of North Providencewill receive $8,000 for a conditions assessment of the Old Town Hall.
The City of Pawtucket will receive $9,000 for an architectural assessment of the Pawtucket Public Library Sayles Building.
The City of Providencehas secured $6,000 for the preparation of a National Register nomination for the former Plymouth Congregational Church, now Iglesia Visión Evangélica.
Providence will delegate $10,000 to Providence Preservation Society to fund construction documents for the rehabilitation of the Old Brick School House.
The Commission reserved $10,000 to fund the 2020 Rhode Island Statewide Historic Preservation Conference.
