Spring Into Energy Fair
Climate Change Solutions Start at Home!
Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium, 1401 Hope Street, Bristol, RI
March 23, 2019; 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Bristol, R.I. (March 7, 2019) – With the effects of climate change on the rise, many Rhode Islanders want to take action and become part of the solution. But it can seem overwhelming to many. Can one person make a difference? What decisions and actions make the most impact for the environment? And what are the costs and incentives to make these changes at home?
The Audubon Society of Rhode Island and Green Energy Consumers Alliance are partnering on March 23 to bring clean energy information and environmental solutions to Rhode Islanders. Experts from across the state will create a one-stop shop for clean energy and conservation needs—home efficiency, electric cars, rooftop solar, and much more!
Test drive electric cars and bicycles. Meet experts and ask about renewable energy options, costs and incentives. Discover current recycling tips and other ways to make a difference. It’s a day full of information, solutions and ideas – all presented in a hands-on, consumer-friendly Spring Into Energy Fair.
There will be experts on hand to discuss ways that the public can take action, reduce their carbon footprint and make a difference. Solutions start at home with both the small and large choices that are made on a daily basis. Let’s all work together to fight climate change.
Some of the organizations that will be exhibiting:
- RISE Engineering: providing energy efficiency measures to renters and homeowners, including home energy assessments through National Grid’s EnergyWise program.
- NEC Solar: offering residential and commercial solar options.
- Acadia Center: empowering communities and offering real-world solutions to the climate crisis through advocacy and research.
- Citizen’s Climate Lobby: working to put a price on carbon.
- E2SOL: maximizing renewable energy solutions for individuals and communities while providing guidance on energy tax incentives
- Test drive electric cars with Grieco Toyota – Plus & Advanced and BMW of Warwick – i3
and e-bikes with Mission Electric Bikes: opportunities will be available to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle (EV) and see for yourself that the future is electric.
- Rhode Island Resource Recovery, Office of Energy Resources, Conservation Law Foundation, and more!

Green Energy Consumers Alliance, formerly Mass Energy and People’s Power & Light, was founded in 1982. Green Energy Consumers is governed by a volunteer board of directors and employs approximately 20 staff in Boston and Providence. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serves over 20,000 members and program participants with green energy choices that empower people to bring about a low carbon future as well as a trusted advocate voice for pro-consumer, pro-environment energy policies. Its innovative consumer-focused programs include: Green Powered, which enables residential and small business consumers to choose renewable electricity sources, such as New England-based wind and solar, and Drive Green, which has already helped over 500 people purchase or lease an electric car at a discount. https://greenenergyconsumers.org/
