WEAVER: THE EDNA PROJECT

New York duo in unique concert at the Weaver Library

A Weaver libarylogo2-300x300

New York musicians Liz Queler and Seth Farber present The Edna Project, a unique concert featuring the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay set to music on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 7 pm.

Described as an eclectic, imaginative collection of songs spanning folk, bluegrass, rock and jazz, the Edna Project came about when Liz, frustrated by writer’s block, opened a volume of Millay’s poetry and decided to compose music to the lyrics she read.

Enthralled by the life and works of the unconventional Millay (1892 – 1950) Liz immersed herself in Millay’s world and, with husband Seth, created a unique musical program.

Hailed by Billboard Magazine as a “singer’s singer” Liz (guitar/mandolin) has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Newport Folk Festival, and with the Dallas Symphony.

Liz has shared the stage with folk icons Richie Havens, Janis Ian, and Guy Clark among others. Her songs have won awards from Billboard, and The National Academy of Popular Music.

Seth Farber (piano/accordion) was musical director to the late, great Odetta for her last decade. His numerous Broadway credits include assistant conductor for Hairspray and his compositions have been used extensively for film and TV.

Seth has recorded and performed with artists such as Billy Joel, Gregg Allman, Phoebe Snow, and The Staples Singers.

Weaver Library is located at 41 Grove Avenue, East Providence, RI.

This concert is free and open to all.
