19 on Paper and The Hive RI Bring Art to the Workplace

The Hive RI, a provider of community-oriented co-working space, and 19 On Paper, a group of acclaimed Southern New England artists, have partnered to bring art to the workplace at Hive RI’s shared spaces at North Kingstown’s historic Lafayette Mill. With an opening reception on Friday, March 15 th, 5 – 7 PM, the varied works of thirteen of 19 On Paper artists are on display now thru May 6 th.

The participating artists include Grace Bentley-Scheck, Jill Brody, Sally Caswell, Alma Davenport, David DeMelim, Kendra Ferreira, Ann-Marie Gillett, BL Green, Paul Murray, Allie Sabalis, Hiroko Shikashio, Felicia Touhey, and Cindy Wilson.

Founded in 1986, 19 On Paper is an organization of Southern New England artists who create works of art on or with paper. Its members are painters, collage artists, printmakers, book artists, photographers, digital artists, and sculptors who have exhibited worldwide and several are published in a variety of print media. The group has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums in New England and abroad.
19 On Paper member and spokesperson Cindy Wilson noted, “The Hive RI and 19 On Paper have a shared interest in promoting art in the workplace. We hope our art will enhance the sense of community that Hive RI values in its approach to co-working. As I have experienced myself, their shared spaces are comfortable and inviting places to work in.”
The Hive RI is a non-traditional co-working space which strives to be a place of action where people come together – much like a bee hive – to enhance themselves culturally, professionally, and personally. It offers a positive and professional atmosphere with quiet work spaces as well as opportunities to collaborate with other like-minded folks.
