RICBA Book Club for Kids
Stef Soto, Taco Queen
Saturday, January 12, 2019
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Children’s Caidin Room
Young readers are invited to sign up for the January Book Club for Kids program at the Pawtucket Children’s Library.
This month’s title is a nominee for the 2019 RI Children’s Book Award, an annual award given to the author of a book chosen by Rhode Island children, grades 3-5, as their favorite.
Participating in the Book Club for Kids program at the Pawtucket Public Library helps young readers meet the criteria for voting for the award in February 2019.
This month’s RICBA nominated book is Stef Soto, Taco Queen by Jennifer Torres.
The first 15 kids to register at the library will receive a free copy of the book.
Estefania “Stef” Soto wants to fit in at school – and not be nicknamed the Taco Queen.
Her overprotective Papi’s talent and joy is cooking and serving food on his beat-up taco truck called Tía Perla.
When the city threatens her family’s business, Stef starts to question what exactly matters most.
Once the reader is signed up and has the book, he or she can read it on their own or with someone else.
All the readers are invited to attend the Book Club for Kids program on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 am in the Children’s Caidin Room to talk about favorite parts, play trivia games, and participate in theatre activities based on the book with the GAMM Theatre’s Education Director Susie Schutt.
