RICHARDSON PRESERVE GRAND OPENING
After months of trail building, field mowing, garden weeding, post hole digging, signing and exterior maintenance and painting of the Barrows Farm House under trying and difficult weather conditions that went on with a month of rainy Saturdays, the Attleboro Land Trust caught a break.
The grand opening and dedication was a perfect day.
Thanks to dozens of volunteers and the hundreds of donated man hours, two hundred or more visitors showed up to explore, enjoy and experience the wonders of the Richardson Preserve.
This was a multi-generational crowd.
Once that got used to being out of doors, the children reveled in playing games, running and chasing about and petting the Alpacas too.
The more able and adventurous got to brag that they had hiked the over mile long trail through cedar swamp and forgotten foundations and vernal pools.
The more mature, inquisitive and scholarly delighted in Bill Lewis??? historical lecture on the geology, the farm house and the families who lived,??defended and preserved the land.
As the day ended the volunteers once more set to work.
Before sunset the crew had picked up, packed up and stored away the ending of a perfect day.??
