Bella: An Immigrant’s Story of Resilience and Courage to be performed at the Weaver Library

Weaver Library presents??Bella: An Immigrant???s Story of Resilience and Courage, a one-woman show about the life journey of Bella Indianer on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 7pm.??

??The 45-minute play is performed and written by Bella???s granddaughter, Vicki Summers, who acts as numerous characters in the play.??Bella survived the pogroms in Russia and, in 1920, emigrated to America where she married and raised a family.??Bella???s story is a universal one: a story of resilience, courage, humor and love.

Summer???s goal for the play is to bring to life a Jewish American immigrant, portraying all the challenges and the rewards.

More importantly, Summers hopes to encourage her audiences to learn and record their own family stories so that they won’t get lost in time.

Vicki Summers is a professional actress and drama instructor/director at Riverview School in Sandwich, MA.??

Her favorite roles include Blanche in A??Streetcar Named Desire, Molly in??Molly Sweeney, Margie in??Good People, and Amanda in??The Glass Menagerie.??

In??Bella, Vicki brings to life her beloved grandma.??Bella??was originally developed and produced at Cape Rep Theater in Brewster MA, in their Theater lab program for new plays.
