Attleboro, MA ??? February 13, 2018.?? The Attleboro Arts Museum will present its Fifth Annual All School Show, a one-day student art exhibition, on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 from 10am-4pm.?? Over 75 pieces of artwork created by 50+ students of all ages who were enrolled in a W. Charles Thompson Museum School art class or workshop during the Museum???s 2017 winter, spring, and/or fall programming will be showcased.?? All mediums will be on display from drawing & painting to printmaking, ceramics and more.
Abby Rovaldi, Museum Programs Coordinator comments, ???Whether its adults reconnecting with an art technique they haven???t tried in years, a parent and child working side-by-side or our youngsters boldly going where no artist has gone before ??? the talent and energy of our students is contagious.?? I???m constantly inspired by what goes on in our studios, and love hearing the excitement and laughter emanating from our studios daily.????? Rovaldi continues, ???Art is as inspiring to create as it is to share.?? We are so happy to provide this exhibition opportunity and congratulate our students on their outstanding achievements in art.???

Kusumita Savaram, age 14 of Attleboro, MA has been taking art classes at the Museum since 2014. ???I have to say my time at the Arts Museum is always great! I???ve always liked art, but the Museum???s art classes provided a space to actually make it and further my education on the subject. I always look forward to these classes and am very proud of what I???ve produced. I love the constant flow of ideas from my instructor, it really encourages me.?????
The All School Show gives learning artists the self-confidence, and in some cases, the first opportunity to display their artwork in a professional environment.?? It also provides a chance for students to connect with one another and share concepts, processes & knowledge on what they experience in the Museum studios. ???It is such a privilege to be a part of encouraging others to tap into their own natural ability to create. As an art instructor, I’m a guide as well as an admiring witness as students explore their talent and imagination,??? remarks Sandy Coleman, AAM Painting Instructor.?? Meredith Passey, AAM Multi-arts Instructor comments, ???working with students in the AAM studios has reinforced my choice to teach art professionally.?? It has always been a passion of mine but working with children who are eager to learn and excited to try new things makes my time spent at the AAM even more valuable and I’ve loved watching this community grow.??? ??
Combined with the All School Show???s student reception from 2:00-4:00pm on March 3rd will be a special Museum Open House ??? free and open to the community.?? Visitors will not only enjoy student artworks on display in the main gallery, but also experience a fun family arts & crafts station, an artful

The following Museum faculty will be conducting demonstrations at the Open House : Sandra Barrett holds an Associate???s Degree in Social Studies from Berufsbuildungszentrum College in Hochstadt, Germany and her BFA in Sculpture from Bridgewater State University that she received in May of 2007.?? Sandra is currently teaching Ceramics for all ages at the Attleboro Arts Museum.
Sandy Coleman is an artist engaged in play. She is driven by an unrelenting curiosity and desire to explore various mark-making materials and concepts revolving around the beauty, power and mystery of women. Her acrylic paintings and mixed-media collage works reflect her fascination with the unspoken language of patterns, which connects her to Alabama roots, where her grandmother???s handmade quilts spoke volumes square-by-square. Sandy???s creations have been featured on HGTV, in Oprah magazine, and in exhibitions at colleges, museums and galleries in the Boston and Providence area. The artist currently is a magazine editor, after spending 20 years as a journalist working for the Orlando Sentinel and most recently the Boston Globe.
Lisa Granata holds a BFA in General Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art.?? She has a MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a year???s study in Florence Italy at Studio Arts Center International.?? Lisa has been teaching a variety of art classes at the Attleboro Arts Museum since 1993 and teaching Introduction to Visual Arts at Dean College since 2002. Her exhibitions include galleries and museums on the east coast, mid-west and Italy.
Carolyn Letvin is a resident of Milford, Massachusetts. She has exhibited in the New England area since 1990. She is an accomplished landscape painter and creates stylized feline and farm animal imagery. Currently, her work can be seen at Galatea Fine Art in Boston, MA, Lauren Clark Fine Art in Great Barrington, MA, Hudson Art & Framing in Hudson, MA, and Gallery Wright in Wilmington, VT. She is on the boards of the Concord Art Association and the Monotype Guild of New England.
Ben Macomber holds a BS in Commercial Illustration and Design from UMASS Dartmouth and a Certificate in Art Education from Bridgewater State University. He has taught visual arts for many years in public schools, mostly in the Attleboro School District.?? Presently, he is on the faculty of RISD Continuing Education Young Artist Program, the Attleboro Arts Museum, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and the Handicraft Club of Providence.?? He also teaches watercolor painting and basic drawing at several Senior and Adult art centers in the Attleboro area.??
??Mary Wojciechowski, a retired visual arts teacher, received her BFA degree from the University of Connecticut. She is a signature member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, a juried artist in the Cape Cod Art Association and is a member of the Attleboro Arts Museum, the Monotype Guild of New England and Collective Marks. Watercolor has been Mary???s principle medium during her painting career with subjects taken most often from the natural surroundings of her New England home. Most recently, Mary???s art has expanded beyond representational toward a more explorative and experimental approach and includes work in monotype printmaking and alcohol ink painting as well. Mary???s work has been accepted into many juried exhibitions, both local and regional, receiving awards in some. She is currently represented by Gallery 31, Orleans, MA.????
