Meredith, NH ??? On Saturday and Sunday, February 10-11, 2018, the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire becomes a winter ???fun land??? on the ice. The 39th annual Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby brings anglers and families from all over New England outside to enjoy this fun event.

The derby is headquartered in the picturesque town of Meredith, New Hampshire, well known for its fun shopping, lodging, and dining options all year long, but in the winter???the frozen lake becomes a unique town of its own???with bob houses, snowmobiles and people just getting out to breath in the fresh crisp air.

Big Prizes, Little Houses and Big Fish!?? This event is a major fundraiser for the Meredith Rotary Club and the countless volunteer hours make this annual event a ???must-do??? for anyone that loves the great outdoors and is looking for a great family weekend destination. With over $50,000 in prize awards, including a Disney Dream Vacation, there are plenty of people that purchase a $40 ticket even though they don???t even plan to fish!?? ???It???s such a great cause and we want to keep the tradition alive for generations to come???, states one of the event organizers, then jokingly, ???The experience of the derby just isn???t something you can have watching TV! However, there is Wi-Fi on ice for those who can???t be without their smart phones!????? The organizers plan a free Kid???s Fishing Clinic on Saturday at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm, for kids under the age of 16.

Event producers encourage everyone to register, since you don???t even need to fish to win one of the many cash prizes that are drawn throughout the weekend. Registration for the event is just $40 per person.?? Each registration provides the opportunity to win one of the cash prizes as well as the Disney trip.?? Each registration also includes a $10 dining certificate from T-BONES and Cactus Jack???s. Prizes for the top winning fish are $15,000, $5,000 and $3000.???? About the Ice Fishing Derby:
The Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby is produced by The Meredith Rotary Club which was founded in 1928, and established the Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby as its major fundraiser in 1978. The funds that are raised through the Ice Fishing Derby and other events enable the club to support the local communities with donations to the Food Pantry, Senior Center, the New Hampshire Veteran’s Home, scholarships to traditional and non-traditional students, and other worthy causes. Club members include men and women from the community who have experience with a wide variety of professions.
