National Organization of Italian American Women Honors Three Wise Women at January 18 Event??
Providence, RI ??? The Rhode Island Region of the National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW) will honor three of Rhode Island???s influential and prominent women at its ninth annual Epiphany Celebration on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Caf?? Nuovo, 1 Citizens Plaza in Providence, RI.
Designer Nicole Romano to host the annual awards dinner as a past honoree. Distinguished board members include: Lidia Matticchio Bastianich and Hon. Nancy Pelosi Wise Women Awards will be presented to Gail Ciampa, Food Editor for The Providence Journal; Judith Dupr??, Educator and Artist; and Laura Pisaturo, Esq., Chair of the Rhode Island Parole Board.
Gail Ciampa???s tenure as a respected writer, editor and reporter spans over thirty years. She currently writes and edits the food section in The Providence Journal, part of southern New England???s leading news organization. Her award-winning? work has appeared in Rhode Island???s largest newspaper for over fifteen years. Previously she was a journalist in several New England-area news media outlets.
Judith Dupr?? is a New York Times bestselling author of several works of narrative nonfiction on art, design, and architecture, an author, historian, and design consultant… She lectures widely on architecture and creativity. She holds a Master of Divinity from Yale University and received degrees in English and Studio Art from Brown University, and later studied at the Open Atelier of Design and Architecture in Manhattan.
Laura Pisaturo, Esq. was appointed Chair of the Rhode Island Parole Board in August 2014. Ms. Pisaturo has dedicated a large portion of her career to public service, working in both public and private sectors and holding legal positions with the Providence-area law offices as well as in a solo practice.

Proceeds from the Epiphany Celebration help to support NOIAW programs such as the Scholarship Program which provides financial assistance to students to help them realize their dreams; the Cultural Exchange Program which sends young Italian American women on culturally enriching experiences to Italy; and the Mentor Program which pairs young Italian American women with established professionals.
