Holiday Memorial Tradition to Honor Loved Ones

Hyannis, MA ?????Hope Hospice announces the start of its annual Tree of Memories event, celebrating its 27th year. Ornamental scallop shells inscribed to honor loved ones adorn 20 trees in outdoor displays during the holiday season in towns across the region. Hope Hospice???s chaplains and social workers hold non-denominational ceremonies at each tree providing those who attend a chance to share in remembering their loved ones.

Seashells are beautiful, strong and ever-present???much like memories of loved ones. Remember your family member or loved one with a shell ornament on a Tree of Memories this holiday season.

Donations will support other families experiencing the impact of serious illness or loss. Shells can be hung on a tree in the location of one???s choice and may be reserved with a donation in any amount to Hope Hospice. Anyone can be honored, regardless of whether they were a patient of Hope Hospice or HopeHealth. Following the holidays, people may keep their shells as mementos.

Hope Hospice wants to thank the many volunteers and businesses who make this special event possible. Volunteers drill, inscribe and deliver the shells, assist at the ceremonies and set up and dismantle the trees. Botello Lumber donates the trees. Eldredge & Bourne Moving & Storage installs the trees. Many community organizations, towns and local businesses host the trees on their properties.
