Winter Soundscapes Wind Symphony Concert
Usher in the holiday season on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7:30 PM at the annual winter concert presented by the Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony, under the direction of Earl Raney.
The evening delights will feature festive??masterworks by??Georges Bizet,??Dmitri Shostakovich,??Johann Strauss Jr.,??Ralph Vaughan Williams, plus seasonal favorites by Mariah Carey and Leroy Anderson. Conductor??Raney says,
“This concert is titled Winter Soundscapes. It will take listeners of all ages on a delightfully eclectic sonic journey! Bring your family and friends for a wonderful evening of community music making!”??
The concert will take place at Weber Theatre, Watson Fine Arts building on the campus of Wheaton College, 26 East Main Street, Norton on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7:30 PM.

The Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony is a continuing partnership between the SMARTS Collaborative and the Wheaton College Music Department. Now in its 27th season, the Wind Symphony is comprised of area high school students, students from Wheaton College and adults from more than fifteen surrounding communities.
Founded in 1990 by the SMARTS Collaborative, the Wind Symphony has presented numerous concerts throughout the area while establishing itself as one of the region???s leading performing group.
The Wind Symphony is funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Attleboro, Mansfield, Norton, and Taunton Local Cultural Councils.
