HEATHER PIERSON ACOUSTIC TRIO IN WRENTHAM
The Heather Pierson Acoustic Trio will be performing at the Original Congregational Church in Wrentham at 7:30 PM, Friday, Nov. 217. Heather is an award-winning pianist, multi-genre singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, bandleader, and performer.
From New Orleans-style jazz and blues to rousing Americana and poignant folk narratives, Heather???s memorable, intimate, and cathartic live performances, both solo and with her acoustic trio (Davy Sturtevant on strings/cornet and Shawn Nadeau on bass), feature her virtuosity on piano, her bell-tone vocals, and her commanding yet playful stage presence while wielding a tenor banjo, melodica, ukulele, or acoustic guitar.
Heather performs over 200 shows/year throughout the U.S.
The Heather Pierson Acoustic Trio burst onto the national folk scene in 2015 with their debut EP, Still She Will Fly, whose title track was the #2 single on the Folk radio charts that same year. The trio???s full-length debut, Singin???, released on June 30, 2017, is the tenth release on Heather???s own record label, Vessel Recordings, and debuted on the Folk radio charts at #1.
Singin??? is a document of ten originals and two classics, spanning from the streets of New Orleans to the valleys of Appalachia, and it features Heather???s multi-genre songwriting, their intricate instrumental arrangements, and stirring three-part vocal harmonies.
According to Dave Humphreys of Two Way Street Coffeehouse in Downers Grove, IL, “Heather’s Trio gave one of the most entertaining, artistic, and engaging performances we’ve hosted in our 46 years!
Their consummate musicianship, gorgeous vocal harmonies, and excellent songwriting held me and our full-house audience spellbound.
Individually, the three of them are terrific. As a trio they are astounding… The walls of our little venue hold many wonderful sounds and memories. We’ve just added some of the best.”
Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, available at the church office, 508-384-3110, or at www.musicatocc.org
The event will be in the Fellowship Hall of the church, accessible from the parking lot in the rear.
