???All Quiet on the Rappahannock Tonight??? at the Weaver Library???
To commemorate their 50th anniversary, the East Providence Historical Society (EPHS) published a book of local Civil War letters from Lt. Peter Hunt, great grandson of John Hunt Jr., to his family.
Although the original letters have vanished, transcripts made with an early typewriter became known to the Society. On Monday, September 25, 2017 at 7pm, the Weaver Library and the Historical Society host descendants of the Hunt family who will talk about this local family???s legacy sharing Peter???s story of honor and bravery.
Actors in period dress will read from Peter???s letters and those of his mother, Nancy Windsor Waterman Hunt.
The book, All Quiet on the Rappahannock Tonight: the Civil War letters of Lt. Peter Hunt -1861-1964, will be available for purchase. This program is free and open to all.
