Rhode Island Charity and Local Restaurant Join Forces to Send Aid to Families Affected by Hurricane Harvey
Bristol, Rhode Island Caritas Smile, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and children in the U.S. and developing countries in partnership with the Lobster Pot is making waves as it hosts an end of summer cocktail reception on a waterfront patio called ???Cocktails by the Sea?????where diapers and feminine products will be collected and shipped to families affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston Texas. The event will take place on Sunday, September 17th from 4pm-7pm at the Lobster Pot Restaurant in Bristol on the beautiful waterfront patio. This good cause networking event will feature a silent auction, cash bar, great food, and opportunities to volunteer with Caritas Smile. RSVP caritasmile@gmail.com.
???Diapers and feminine products are the most needed items for women and children in Houston right now. These products are often not provided at emergency shelters. While relief groups work to bring essentials to the victims, many of the main humanitarian groups don???t supply menstrual products or diapers.??? Said Sixcia Devine, Founder of Caritas Smile. The diapers will be shipped to the Diaper Foundation in Houston and famine products to Disturbing Dignity, based in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Diapers can also be purchased online here. In addition to collecting items the event will engage local communities, small businesses, artist, mission focused travel groups, community volunteers and community leaders by celebrating the end of summer with?????Cocktails by The Sea???.??
This cocktails for a good cause event??will take place on Sunday, September 17th from 4pm-7pm at The Lobster Pot, 119 Hope Street in Bristol, RI. A unique combination of local art, eclectic food, and fun music are just some of the festivities that will be highlighted during the ???Cocktails by The Sea??? event. The event is family friendly and completely open to all who are interested in meeting new people who are making a difference in the lives of children.??The entire State of Rhode Island is invited to join in on the fun.
