The Taunton Area Vietnam Veterans Association is a non-profit organization. Based in Taunton Massachusetts, it was officially founded in January of 1983 by five Vietnam Veterans and one Korean Veteran. Many months prior to this date a great deal of time was spent on writing a list of purposes around which the group was built. The following is a list of the TAVVA’s purposes and goals: To improve the conditions for Vietnam Veterans, to promote positive education for all on Vietnam and its Veterans, to assist the needs of our members and their families whenever possible, to provide Vietnam Veterans representation at area meetings and ceremonies when required or requested, and to insure the continuing remembrance of our fallen brothers and sisters and those still listed as M.I.A.’s.
