BILINGUAL FAMILY STORY TIME

11:00 ??? 11:45 A.M.

This is a FREE program for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers. It will be held every other Saturday, April 15th, 29th, May 13th and June 10th. We will have fun interactive stories to help build vocabulary and improve language skills, hands-on craft/activities, and traditional songs to encourage social interaction and obtain cultural awareness. Registration encouraged, but not required. Location: Children???s Caidin Room

MUSIC WITH MR. ROWLAND (A special music class for children with special needs)

Families with young children on the Autism Spectrum and other special needs are invited for a musical jam session. Bring a friend and get ready to sing and dance to lively tunes or play along on a rhythm instrument. You won???t want to miss a beat! A class for children ages 3 to 7 years old. Children of all abilities are welcome. No registration required. Location: Campbell Auditorium

SPRING DROP-IN CRAFT PROGRAM FOR KIDS

11:00 ??? 12:30 P.M.

Children and their families are invited to drop-in??to make a spring??craft using paper, markers, glue and other craft supplies. The program is best for children ages 7-12 but younger children are always welcome with adult caregivers. The program is free and no registration is required. A local Girl Scout who is earning her Silver Award is directing this project. Location: Children???s Caidin Room

PLAYING IT SAFE WITH DOGS WITH THE OCEAN STATE ANIMAL COALITION

10:30 – 11:30 AM

Best for kids ages 4 and up.?? FREE and no registration needed. Learn what you need to do to be safe around dogs (familiar and unfamiliar to you), watch a video, ask and answer questions about what animals need, get hands-on practice with Phineas, a Golden doodle trained as a Canine Good Citizen.

READING WITH TINKERBELL & WENDY

If you need practice reading or just like reading to dogs, Tinker Bell and Wendy are the dogs for you! Reading times are in 15 minute blocks. HANG OUT ZONE FOR KIDS

The Children’s Caidin Room will be transformed into the Hang Out Zone for kids ages 7-12 for this special school vacation program. There will be board games, art materials, ping pong, and comfy floor cushions. Drop-in and hang out with some friends or make some new ones. Location: Children???s Caidin Room

INFANT STORY CLASS

10:30 – 11:30 A.M.

These classes are babies’ first story classes (usually newborns through age 2 years) at the Pawtucket Library.?? These classes have stories, songs, rhymes and social play time. Mother Goose story classes are a wonderful way to share time with your baby while introducing a love of books and the library. We provide a fun environment where babies and toddlers can work on their important early literacy skills. Registration not required. Location: Children???s Caidin Room

Children and their families are invited to celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (El D??a de los Ni??os/El D??a de los Libros). A national holiday celebrating children, different cultures and the importance of literacy. This year our event will feature fun stories and music with Storyteller and Musician Josefina Callender followed by a simple craft, free books and a snack. A free program for children of all ages and their families. No registration required.??Location: Campbell Auditorium

LEGO CLUB

Attention LEGO fans! It???s time to develop your coding skills. The Pawtucket Children???s Library has added coding education to its LEGO Club for Kids program. Children will learn to write code that animates their LEGO creations. This free program is open to kids ages 7-12. Bring your imagination and we will bring the LEGOs and software! No registration required. Location: Children???s Caidin Room

Special extended hours for our weekly Lego Club program. This is a free program designed for kids ages 7-12, younger children are welcome with caregiver help. Legos, Megablocks, and Duplos are provided. No registration required. Location: Children???s Caidin Room

CASEY FARMS??? PROJECT CHICK

Come learn about the life cycle of chickens. Examine eggs from the smallest (hummingbird) to the largest (ostrich). Children will learn how to old a baby Dominique Chick! Location: Campbell Auditorium.
