GEORGE RHODES??AND EVELYN AND A FRIEND
Four dozen plus neighbors and friends joined Evelyn Silva to celebrate the first show mounted in more than a decade in the school gallery named in her honor.
FRANK – MARIAN – EVELYN
Evelyn was the first principal of the Hill-Roberts Elementary School in South Attleboro.
Attleboro artist Marian Wrightington provided the paintings and organized the show.
Principal Frank Rich made opening remarks and welcomed the school community.
Frank noted the spirit of help provided by the staff and faculty to make the event a success. He saluted Marian for her visits to the art classroom to meet with students and sharing her experiences as an artist with them. He stressed his commitment to the arts for all children at Hill-Roberts. He thanked the guests for their commitment to the school and the school community.
In brief remarks, Marian praised Evelyn for her work in the schools and community and said it was an honor to be involved with Evelyn in any endeavor.
Evelyn, to the delight of the audience, cheerfully recounted harrowing experiences in the first year at Hill-Roberts including the flood. She stressed the loyalty, cooperation and unity of the faculty in that first year. She concluded by asking the teachers in the room who had been with her in those first days of the Hill-Roberts??? history to stand.
More than a half-dozen teachers stood to share in Evelyn???s celebration. Amazing.
Guests shared punch and cookies.
Friends browsed the gallery.
And chatted up their neighbors.
FRANK – MARIAN – DAVE SAWYER – EVELYN
Kind words and sincere congratulations were the order of the afternoon.
THE FUSION JAZZ TRIO
Little kids danced to the fusion jazz of the Attleboro High School trio.
That is how it should be.
And, it was.
